Replace (update) file?
-
How can I update my files? I have to update just two images, but everytime when I try it they gets other link:
default was: http://walkmans.files.wordpress.com/2008/01/mirror.png
but now it’s: http://walkmans.files.wordpress.com/2008/09/mirror.png
How can I change link of second file? (I deleted first file, but sill don’t find way to change second’s link) :( -
Change the name of the file prior to uploading, otherwise WP.com gets confused. I think that will solve your image issue.

You could also put a number right after the file name to trick the the server
you would have to re name the file prior to uploadingHere is a example
icon.jpg
Renamed
icon2.jpgBy simply renaming the file the server doesn’t recognize
the file and thinks it’s different….P.s. I know this work around works because I have used the workaround before.

teck07: my problem isn’t name of image, but month when it’s uploaded… first was in january “…/O1/…” and second in september “…/09/…” so I need change that number in url (because I deleted original file from january)
-
Files will always be uploaded and placed into the current month/day/year folders. There is no way to move them, or upload them into a previous month/day/year folder.
You will have to edit the post where that images was, and correct the URL, or delete the image from the post and reinsert it.

@ thesacredpath: =-o 250 posts with 2 images in each one? :'(
I’ve got some another idea – editing exported xml file. If there is some program which can exchange same parts of file to another, I can use it…
like change all “08/01/mirr” to “08/09/mirr”and import xml back… This can be done, right?

You might be able to open it in a plain text file, and then use find and replace, but be very, very, very, very, very, very, very, careful with that. If you don’t think it through very, very, very, very, very, very, very, carefully, you might muck things up royally. The other thing is that you will have to delete all posts in your current blog before importing the XML file back in. The import function will not overwrite existing posts with the same name.
Disclaimer: You are on your own on this, and there are no guarantees that this could not totally mess things up. The choice to roll those dice, and the possible consequences, are all yours.

Wow that is a risky move. I wouldn’t even want embark on
your diffidently on your own and most likely things are
going to get mocked up as soon as you import the XML file
to your blog…Teck
