replaced featured image but old image remains when posting link (eg in facebook)

  Hello,

  I replaced the featured image on one of my bolg posts and set a new featured image. On the blog and on the editing page, the new and correct featured image appears.

  However, if I copy the link to the blog post, in facebook for example, using either the shortlink address or the full address, then the old featured image appears next to the link as a small icon instead of the new image.

  I have tried removing the image from the media library but still the image is the old one. What can I do to have teh new image appear instead ?
