Replacement of post by a post in administration – request
-
Hi, I am happy user of WordPress and I post my articles directly from Microsoft Word. This simple method works fine for recent posts. I can even correct something, modify and update directly from Word.
BUT: for older posts – the ones created more then a year ago – the Word does not recognize that he has made them any more (probably as they were posted from different computer or any other reason) – so it does not update them, and creates a new one instead! Of the same name but different URL.
I would appreciate to have some option to correct this problem. So say when a new post is created and I know that it is only to update some of the old ones, there would be an option in the administration of my blog to say replace one of the old posts by this new post. The reason for replace is that I want to keep all the links in the menus, all the comments people have made to the old post…..
The replacement would have to be made in a way that Word next time updates it automatically. I do not think it is about Word – it is about WordPress.
Or is there any workaround for this problem? Apart from editing the blog inside WordPress? :)
Thank you.Hmm. I am sorry if I do not respond this week to additional questions you might have – as I travel to China right now. And they block WordPress for some reason!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)
