Replacing posts with same post at same url in different install

  • Unknown's avatar

I have several wordpress installs on my website.
    They are all in subfolders.
    Example is palyne.com/blog.redcairo/

I got divi theme and am doing a multi-site install at the root of the domain.
I want to bring all the content from my various other blogs, into the new one.

I want the content to still end up in the same directory (like one of the new blogs in the multi-blog site at root, would be ‘red cairo’ made in a blog.redcairo folder).

I want it to end up with the same page name. They are already done with merely the title as name in the base directory of the blog, such as:
    palyne.com/blog.redcairo/notes-from-remote-viewing-lab-book-3/
so there is not a long multi-folder confusing path or anything.

In other words, when I am done, I want the same content to be at the same location it is now. I just want all the blogs that are currently stand-alone installs, to instead be part of the “multi-blog” wordpress install at root.

I’m searching for answers in google, I’ve got infinite results that don’t answer the question exactly, and am getting pretty desperate for help from someone who knows what they’re talking about (since clearly I don’t :-)).

    Would hugely appreciate any direction.

    Best regards,
    Palyne

  • Hi Palyne, did you mean to post in the WordPress forums for the free software?
    https://wordpress.org/support/forums/

These forums are specific to the sites using our managed service. And we are actually using a multisite for the free sites here; your own multisite instance wouldn’t be on that. But the other forums may be able to help. Good luck!

Oh… I was confused and I mixed them up, you’re right. So sorry. Thanks very much!

    Best regards,
    Palyne
