Replacing site title with logo

    Hi, please help a CSS newbie out.

    I have a site and I have a custom logo. Marrying the two, however, seems impossible. I’ve managed to make the site logo transparent, but can’t figure out how to add the custom logo (which I have in .eps, .jpg and .png formats) in its place.

    This seems like a pretty standard thing to do, and I’m surprised I can’t find any easy instructions or exact CSS coding I can insert to make that happen.

    I’ve got the Newsy theme, and my site is socialprosemedia.com. Thanks in advance for any help you can give me!

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Have you looked at the theme’s Showcase page for information? http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/newsy/

    Yes, there is nothing there that helps with that. This is an issue across all of WordPress.com; I’ve had other blogs and have the same issue. But I’ve seen other people’s blogs and noted that they’ve managed to replace the site name with a custom logo and need to know how to do it.

    I’ve not run into this issue on any of the 6+ sites I manage, but perhaps because you have the Custom Design upgrade this is a problem.

    I’ve tagged this thread to have it moved into the CSS forum where hopefully you can get some help.

    Best wishes.

    JustJennifer: How have you been able to replace the site title with the logo on the sites you manage? It sounds like you’ve been successful, and I’d love to know how you did it. Thank you so much!

    All CSS editing is theme specific editing and though I could be mistaken I don’t believe any of justjennfer’s sites are wearing the premium theme called Newsy. She tagged this thread so it will be moved to the CSS Forum where you will get help from those who provide assistance with CSS editing, so not to worry, but do keep on mind that this is a long weekend.

    To add a logo to the header of any site, you can add a background image using custom CSS. Each set of CSS will be unique to the size of the log. Here is an example using a WordPress logo that can serve as a starting point for you. It is made for use with the Newsy theme:

    #site-title a {
    	background: url(http://s.wordpress.org/about/images/wordpress-logo-notext-bg.png) -30px -20px no-repeat;
    	display: block;
    	height: 125px;
    	padding-left: 140px;
    }

    You can replace the image link in the url() with an image of your choice and then you will also want to adjust all of the number values until the image appears where you want it to next to the site title.

    If you need additional help, please upload the image you would like to use and provide a link to it in a reply here. You should also make sure the “Show header text with your image” option is checked on the Appearance > Header page.
