  Does anyone know how I can reply to comments on my website and blog without them being published?

  Hello!

  From my understanding, the only way is to make your entire site private. Probably not what you’re looking to do :(

  Actually, when you click on the reply button in a comment notification email, it will publish the reply on the site.

  To entirely sidestep this, you would need to click on the email address that appears at the bottom of a comment notification email, under “More information about” and reply by email to that person.

  Also, replying by email to feedback generated from a Contact form does not appear on your site, since the feedback itself is never published publicly on your site.
