Replying to Comments

Is there a way for me (or others) to reply to a comment previously posted without creating a new comment?

You can edit any comment made on your own blog. You can then add your own comments below it using either italics or bold lettering. Perhaps this would be workable for you.

I’m not trying to edit a comment I made earlier. I am trying to “reply” to a comment someone else made to one of my posts without making a new post. Does that make sense?
-
Yes and what we described does too. You can locate any comment made by any person on your blog and edit it to add a comment of your own to it by typing into the below the original comment. -> Manage -> Comments

Timethief, I understand exactly what you are saying now. Thanks for the quick response! One more question: Can “Reader # 2” make a reply to “Reader # 1″‘s comment? Or do they have to post their reply as a new comment?

You’re welcome. The readers must each make independent comments in their own comment boxes. This is because cannot access the admin section of your blog as you can.

They can in their own comment boxes. :)
Surely you aren’t suggesting that every person who comments on one of your blog posts ought to have backend administrative access to your blog are you? Think about it.
