Replying to comments
-
I prefer to reply to comments by editing/adding my comment to the commenter’s comment, like in: http://peoplingplaces.wordpress.com/2008/06/28/food-for-thought . That way my comments don’t overwhelm the “recent comments.” But will a commenter following the thread via email receive these edited comments and thus know of my reply? If not, how might I accomplish this? One thought I had would be to reply/comment normally, post it, then copy it into the edited comment, then delete the original. How long must I leave it before deleting for the commenter to receive the email notification?
-
That sounds so complicating. I just make a whole new comment for each person or one large new comment starting with their names on each new line.
-
But if I leave a comment for each person, my comments dominate the “recent comments.” If within one large comment, I feel comments get out of context.
-
When someone leaves a comment they don’t get any type of notification when other comments are left following their comment. You would have to email them directly.

Thanks staff. Having never left a comment from a different email, I did not know that. That solves my issue and I can have it look like I like.
