there a way to protect your sites from being reported to google, I have a competitor who keeps reporting my sites in every niche I am competing with him in to google, he’s done this to me in over 3 niches and twice for the same niche, is there a way to protect myself from this?

You can verify site ownership with Google Search Console as it will :

Site Verification Services While most site verification tools will ask you to add an “HTML tag” or “meta tag” to your site’s header, we’ve simplified tFurthermore, Google might have some specific rules related to your site niche (I’m not familiar with this, just thinking out loud).
As for protecting your site from getting reported on Google, I don’t think anyone can prevent anyone from reporting anyone if they wish to.
Perhaps you could contact Google Search support and ask for help if you’re sure these reports are malicious.
