Reporting a blog posting
-
I realize this website is very much about free speech and allows it’s users to do so within certain guidelines. However I did notice (or maybe I missed it) the absence of a link or button to report a blog entry. Is there just a link or a section we can go to, to do so? I say this because I came across a blog entry which promoted pedophilia. And though I am one who does realize free speech and expression, some things, especially the graphicness of the entry was in extremely, extremely bad taste.
So, if there such a function around. Or a section we could send a link, is there any type of moderation in place?

Take a look at this recent thread. It should help:

There are other links we can supply as well provided you are more specific about what it is that you wish to report.
Examples:
harassment hate speech, etc.
Read this first : http://en.wordpress.com/freedom-of-speech/ then read this and follow the directions: http://en.wordpress.com/complaints/content theft http://en.support.wordpress.com/content-theft-what-to-do/

I said that awkwardly. I meant that it’s imporatant when reporting matters of this nature that you are very specific and provide links when you do report. Please don’t post them here as they would promote the site and post in question.

Bad taste is legally protected. Certain kinds of speech are not, and that’s a matter for the lawyers. Report it and let them sort it out.

I checked the blog, used Google Translate and I found nothing graphic. I have asked the OP for more details if I missed something.
The blog is by someone putting the point for paedophiles not being bad, that they are misunderstood. From what I have read all they are doing is writing down their point of view. That’s it. And they are allowed to do that.
I get complaints every day about blogs which offend other politically or religiously or for other reasons and in the end the blog being complained about is doing one thing – writing. And isn’t the whole point of a blog to write and to be online and to be read?
The law matters and we cannot avoid that. This does not break the law.
This does not break our Terms of Service. If it did the blog would have gone.
[speaking generally]

“However, you may also find the occasional blog that offends you. It might offend us as well, but while we are strict about shutting down blogs that violate our terms of service), we will not shut down blogs because they are offensive. We think the right response to bad or offensive ideas is to speak out against them, not to censor them.”So if you find a blog which offends, write how bad it is but to do that you first need to read it – you cannot argue from a position of knowing nothing. It’s easier to hang people with their own words if you feel that strongly. Of course if you argue they may come to your blog to discuss directly. Good for traffic maybe but you’ll also be sending them traffic.
