How do I repost a blog post to twitter directly from wordpress? Thank you.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi togaword! You can’t repost an entire blog post to Twitter, but you can automatically push out a tweet when you publish the post, which includes a link to the post (and a custom message that you add when editing the post).

To do this, you need to first connect your WordPress.com and Twitter accounts by going to My Site > Sharing. Under “Connections,” you’ll see a list of social services. Here, you can follow the steps to connect to your Twitter account.

Once connected to Twitter, you can set a tweet per post (and also turn off the feature for individual posts).

Thanks you cherilucas. I published the post and it already pushed to Twitter directly, but realized I needed an edit. Is there a way to “repush” the post like it did during the original publish??
The only alternative method is to cut and paste the link into a new tweet directly on twitter. Thank you.

  • At the moment, you currently can’t republicize from that area of your edit post screen. But here are a few other ways to “repush” one of your posts on Twitter:

    1) Go to the public view of your post. Scroll to the bottom of the post and you’ll see buttons under “Share This.” Click on the Twitter button, and a popup box will appear that has a tweet already populated with the essentials (title, link, and your Twitter name). You can change/customize this tweet before publishing it.

    Or

    2) Go to the edit view of your post and click on Sharing. There is a section labeled “Shortlink.” You can also copy this link and paste it in Twitter. (#1 might be easier, but it all depends on what you prefer.)
