Repying to comments on my blog via email

  Hi
  Can someone tell me if the system for replying to comments has changed?
  I used to be able to see the comments left on my blog by my email and
  on each of the comments, would be the readers name/email address ect.
  I would then be able to click on that comment and
  reply directly to the persons email.

  Recently, the comments have been coming to me as (email visible only to moderators and staff).
  I’d then have to click on the persons email which opens a new message box, type in subject and reply.

  I much prefer the first method of just clicking the comment and replies directly to the persons email address.
  Is there a setting I can change?

  Some months ago the ability to reply to a comment by email was activated. This means that if you click reply and type a response whatever you type will be posted as a comment (in the same thread if you use nested comments). You can turn this off at Settings / Discussion Settings / Comment Reply Via Email by unchecking the box. Whether that returns you to the previous state I can’t answer as I would not wish to turn this off.
