request a type of theme

I imagine there is someone to ask, but I don’t have a specific theme I want, just a type. Something with a light, but not white background behind the typeface; and with a large, legible text, and only one narrow column of widgets.

Wordpress.com does not have theme designers on staff. What is done is that we find a theme that is coded to run on wordpress. org software and then we send the link to staff ask for staff here to adapt the theme so it will run on wordpress. com software. -

Do you know that they only themes we can use are found here -> Presentation -> Themes. The reason I’m asking is because your are new and because there have been scads of other themes requested in this last year that have not, as yet, been adapted for wordpress.com software and made available to us.
(I thought it would be unkind not to warn you not to hold your breath. Even if someone does suggest one that you like it may not be approved and even if it is approved it may take months or even years before you see it.)
Perhaps the css upgrade would be an option for you. Do you have css editing experience?
