Request for Change of Connection of My Custom Domain

My custom domain mcyabeadstudio.com is wrongly connected to my site mcyancheta72.wordpress.com. I want to connect it to this site mcyabeadstudiocom.wordpress.com instead. But I am not able to transfer.
I got this purchased this domain from Squarespace. But I would like to use WordPress hosting.
I need your help to get the domain right. Thanks.

You’ll want to cancel and remove the Domain Connection from Purchases page here: https://wordpress.com/me/purchases/
Once the domain is removed, please access your mcyabeadstudiocom.wordpress.com site and add the domain from there. Here’s our excellent guide for you to be able to connect the domain from Squarespace: https://wordpress.com/support/domains/connect-a-squarespace-domain/ -
Thank you for your reply. I already did that. But it did not work.
- When I tried to cancel mcyabeadstudio.com from my mcyancheta72.wordpress.com site, it says in the end, “mcyabeadstudio.com was successfully cancelled. It will be available for use until it expires on June 7, 2025.” And I still see the domain under mcyancheta72.wordpress.com site no matter how many times I cancelled it.
- If I add the domain to another site mcyabeadstudiocom.wordpress.com which I built for it, I get the message,
“This domain is already mapped to a WordPress.com site.” - I cannot cancel in the 1st site, and I cannot add to the 2nd site. I do not know what to do now.

Hi Catherine,
It appears the domain wasn’t fully removed. Please go to Purchases page again and select the domain: https://wordpress.com/me/purchases/
And then you can click on “Remove subscription”
You can try to add the domain to the other site once the domain is removed.
