Today I got an interesting email:
I’m interested in placing a promotional link on your page:
http://bewitchingkitchen.com/2010/02/27/seared-tuna-is-my-own-private-idaho-get-out-of-that-steak-youre-in/.The link would be for a website which has tuna recipes as its main keywords.

I just want to clarify the issue – WordPress.com doesn’t allow me to do that, correct?

These requests for you to promote commercial sites on our blogs are common. I too receive such “advertising” requests on my wordpress.com blog and on my personal blog and feartheseeds is correct – this is a no can do on a wordpress.com blog , and ignoring that would be grounds for Staff to delete your blog. Don’t do it. -

I know you marked this thread ‘resolved’ but I would also note that I get those kinds of ‘offers’ on occasion as well. Besides ignoring or deleting them, I mark them as spam so those “too good to be true” make money link exchange offers stop showing up for me at all.

Sometimes ego massages can be tempting :-)
In this case she contacted me through email, so it was not something that Askimet would catch. But more and more I’m learning to trust Askimet and think twice before going against it

Oh, a closer reading would have been good. Still, when I’ve gotten those emails, I spam it from my email program. It learns too… :-)
