Request for removing content
-
A couple of years ago, someone started a test blog for our company. There is information on this blog that needs to be removed but no one seems to know who the owner of the blog is, nobody has a login for this blog. How can we have this content removed?
http://ffitest.wordpress.com
Preferably the blog would be deleted totally, if not possible, one picture specifically needs to be removed: http://ffitest.wordpress.com/siska-lyssens/The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)
-
Every blog has a sole owner and it is the person with the username account who registered the blog under that username account and associated email address. No matter how many blogs are created under any username account there will be only one gravatar and one primary blog that can be linked to that username.
You need to contact the blog’s owner and have her act on the steps that follow as Staff cannot arbitrarily remove anything from any blog without the blog owner’s permission to do so.
You must be logged in as Admin http://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/#administrator under the exact same username account that registered the blog and purchased upgrades to renew them or transfer the blogs and the upgrades to another username account.
To transfer a blog from one username account A to another username account B you must first log in under the username account A that owns the blog you want to transfer to the other username account.
Then you add the other username account B as an Admin of the blog.
adding users http://en.support.wordpress.com/adding-users/
user roles http://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/Then you A can use this process to transfer the blog to that username account B instead http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/#transferring-your-blog-to-another-user-or-account

Thank you, the thing is, I don’t know who the blog owner is. How do I find this information?
-
This is all going to boil down to which username account registered the blog under their associated email address. There is only one means of account recovery so please read on.
I see this username account was registered 5 years ago https://en.forums.wordpress.com/profile/fittest and it matches the blog URL.
You must be logged in as Admin http://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/#administrator under the exact same username account that registered the blog to access the blog’s dashboard by logging in at http://ffitest.wordpress.com/wp-admin/
Clicking this link should display all your blogs registered under the same username, including the hidden ones: https://dashboard.wordpress.com/wp-admin/index.php?page=my-blogs&show=hidden
If you do not see the blog here http://en.support.wordpress.com/my-blogs/ then
follow this guide > http://en.support.wordpress.com/my-blogs/#my-blogs-dashboard-visibilityIf you have lost your log-in information you can visit https://en.wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword
If required please complete the form for account recovery at this link https://en.wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=recovery and submit it to the Account Recovery Staff so they can contact you by email ie. not on these public support forums which are available to everyone with internet access.

Thank you for the information, but the problem still remains the same: I don’t know who setup the blog initially, I don’t know who is administrator so there is no way I can ask them to login.
Account Recovery is not possible either since I don’t have any of the items asked for:Do you have a transaction ID?
Do you have an activation URL or key?
Do you have two factor authentication codes? -
Hi there,
If you don’t have any of the information required to provide access to your account, I’m afraid the only thing that we can do is set it to private, at which point nobody will be able to access the site without a username or password (which only the account holder will have).
Is that something you’d like us to proceed with?
-
Yes, I would like to proceed with that if possible.
Will the blog and it’s content (the images in particular) than still show up in google search results?
Thank you! -
For awhile, but Google will eventually clue in that it’s private and will no longer index the posts or media. It’s actually FASTER when the site is set to private than when it is deleted.

Apologies if you’re aware of this (and it’s great that this was able to be worked out so simply) but for future reference there’s also this method available.
I can’t speak to its effectiveness, but it is a direct way to ask Google to remove an image, for example:
https://support.google.com/websearch/troubleshooter/3111061
In this case everything got solved easily, but just in case anyone runs into a situation like this in the future. :)
-
@kilothought, thank you but in this case it isn’t possible. When I fil everything out & go through every step, they just send me to this page: https://support.google.com/websearch/answer/9109
@amightywp, it would be great if you could set the blot to private
thank you all!
-
Sorry for the delay. That’s not a problem, the blog has been set to private and unless the original owner contacts us requesting that it be re-activated it will stay that way.
Hope you have a great week.
