Request for site deletion and required documentation (GDPR)
-
I am contacting you regarding the WordPress.com site:
https://*****.wordpress.com/
The site was created by a third party for my client, who no longer has access to the email or account used to create it. She wants the **site permanently deleted**, and cannot recover access to the account.
Please let us know:
1. The exact list of documents required to prove identity and legitimacy for a site deletion request under GDPR.
2. Accepted formats and instructions to proceed with the permanent deletion of the site.
3. Any additional requirements or forms that need to be completed.
Thank you for your assistance. -
Hello there,
Thank you for reaching out to us.
To help, we’d first need to identify the site. At the moment, we’re seeing the URL https://*****.wordpress.com/
Can you share the actual URL of the site?
Also, we have a general guide on how to gain access again here – https://wordpress.com/support/account-recovery/ -
Hello,
Thank you for your reply.
The website concerned is the following:
https://santeenergieblog.wordpress.com/As mentioned previously, my client no longer has access to the WordPress.com account or the email address used to create this site, and account recovery is not possible.
She is therefore requesting guidance on the permanent deletion of this site under GDPR, and the list of documents required to proceed.
Thank you for your assistance.
Kind regards,

Hi there,
If your client has none of the forms of proof of ownership listed in the Account Recovery Form, we’ll need to follow up with you by email to discuss details within the account that may help with proving ownership, such as backup email/phone number information listed in the settings. We’ll reach out shortly.
