request invite not working

Add topic to favorites
my readers are obtaining sign in IDs from WP, then requesting an invite to this private blog, but I am not getting any notifications to that effect

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I’ll tag this thread for Staff assistance. Will you please provide a couple of usernames for those WordPress.com bloggers who did not receive the invitations as well as a couple of email addresses for those who do not have WordPress.com accounts? The software will redact ie. HIDE the email addresses so only Staff can see them. After you do that subscribe to the thread so you are notified when they respond and please be patient while waiting.

2. Look below the comment box:

i think my email settings are set up okay, i just rechecked them though to make sure.

here is a user who obtained a user sign id okay, then requested an invite, but i never got it

wordpress sign-in id: pnbf

here is one who said they had trouble with the id sign up process, something about being forced to have a blog, even though I have provided my readers with the correct link to the sign-in ID only

Hi @erin2012,

It looks like you’ve blocked all emails from WordPress.com. Can you uncheck the option for “Block all email updates from blogs you’re following on WordPress.com” at the bottom here?

I unblocked email notifications, and this still is not working. It makes no sense that it should have worked since I am not trying to get emails from blogs that I am following. I am trying to get emails from sign-in only readers who are trying to get permission to view my site. Please advise soonest as I have lost a tremendous amount of traffic due to this problem.

The following user (again) just requested an invite, and I received no email notification:

now it seems to be working — sort of. but it is confusing (as the user is sent to a create a new blog WP page, not a direct sign in ppage — this is after the user receive an accept invite email from WP), and i had to send a direct invite manually to the user directly. i did not receive a request for an invite from this user, when the user logged in and requested an invite.

please show me how to fix this problem!

Hi @erin2012,

It does look like the emails are bouncing from your email inbox. I’m checking with our team to see if there’s anything we can do to prevent this from happening. It seems like your email provider might be blocking the emails. Could you reach out to them and see if they can whitelist emails from @wordpress.com?
