Request: remove linked blogs
-
Hi, could you please remove several linked blogs that no longer exist?

http://test2.bluehberger.infoMany thanks!
I hope this will also stop Jetpack from sending my mails with “Your site appears to be offline, Your site is back online”. How they can determine this for a site that no longer exists, remains a mystery to me.The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there, @faithdance59 you’ll need staff assistance to remove those sites from your WordPress.com account, so I’ve gone ahead and flagged your thread for their attention.
@ava68530 Thanks for helping out here. In case you haven’t read them yet, check out our WordPress.com Best Practices and Community Standards.

Hi there,
I’ve already unlinked the blogs you mentioned from your WordPress.com account.
Regarding the Jetpack emails about your sites appearing offline and back online, this happens because Jetpack tries to connect to the linked sites periodically. If the sites no longer exist or are unreachable, Jetpack interprets that as downtime and sends those notifications. Even if the sites are gone, Jetpack may still attempt to check their status until the connection is fully removed from your account, which can explain why you keep receiving those emails despite the sites no longer existing.
Since I’ve already unlinked them for you, these notifications will stop.
Hope this helps!

thank you so much!
I would not be surprised if Jetpack was telling me about the site being offline. But how is it possible that Jetpack tells me that the non-existent site is back online?

You’re welcome!
Jetpack monitors your sites by attempting to connect to them regularly. If a site is unreachable (for example, because it has been deleted or the domain is no longer active), Jetpack sends an “offline” notification. However, sometimes a server or network may briefly respond to Jetpack’s check, even if the site is not really available. When this happens, Jetpack can mistakenly send a “back online” notification, even though the site is still gone or inaccessible.Once the site is unlinked from your WordPress.com account, Jetpack stops monitoring it, and you should no longer receive these alerts.
Let us know if you need further assistance, and we’ll be happy to help!
