  • Unknown's avatar

I accidentally deleted my domain name a few days ago,I found that I could not map the domain name to the account,But I need to change the domain name server to use my domain name properly.

The previous account was cancelled by me, I want to connect my domain name to this account,Or change the name server of my domain name to (ns0.wixdns.net;ns1.wixdns.net) directly.

    What should i do?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there, I’m not entirely clear on what you mean.

Did you register your custom domain somewhere else or here on WordPressdotcom?

If you registered your custom domain somewhere else and mapped it to your WordPressdotcom website, you would need to change the name servers directly at your domain registrar.

If you registered your custom domain here on WordPressdotcom, but then deleted the domain as part of deleting a plan, you effectively gave up your domain. You’d need to recover the domain before being able to change the DNS pointers.

I’ve gone ahead and flagged this thread for Staff assistance as well.

  • Hi there,

The account you’re using to post here has never owned any domain upgrades with us, and like @justjennifer, I’m not clear on whether you’re trying to make changes to a domain registered with us, or trying to point a domain registered elsewhere to us.

Can you please tell us the domain you need help with, and exactly what you’re trying to do?

    Hi there,

Actually, I want to change the DNS server of the domain name,This domain name is registered in wordpress, just over here.

But I want to change the DNS server to WIX,Now the domain is parked,What should I do?

    Thanks again

    My domain is levixu.com

Now I can’t manage the DNS because I deleted the wordpress account :(

  • Hi there,

In order to recover the domain, we’d also need to restore the account and the site. Before I do that, I must receive an email from the address connected to the closed site. I just contacted that address on file. Please respond to the email to confirm ownership, and we will proceed with restoring the account.

    Thanks.

    Hi there

I have already replied to the confirmation email

    Thanks

  • Hi there,

To which email exactly did you reply?

I do not see a reply to the email staff-doublebassd sent you yesterday, nor do I see any other emails connected to the closed WordPress.com account that owns that domain.

Please reply to either the email Darnell sent you yesterday, or to the email we sent you six days ago when you closed that account, to request that we re-open the account and restore the domain.

We can only help with this if you reply from the email address associated with that WordPress.com account. We cannot help if the request comes from any other account or email address.

    Hi!

Yes, I have already replied to this email address ((email visible only to moderators and staff))

    The sender is Darnell D.

I am very sorry but I don’t know why you didn’t receive it, I just resend it again.

  • Hi there,

I have restored both your account and your domain. You can now log in to that account and update the domain’s name servers by following these instructions:

    http://en.support.wordpress.com/move-domain/change-name-servers/

If you cannot access that account, please reset its password by using this tool:
