Request to please consider offering domain mapping service to me without the plan

  Hi, I am using WordPress since 2012 and wish to just opt for your domain mapping service without buying any plan. From 2012 to 2017, I just had to pay domain papping charges and not for any plan. But, since last year, you started forcing users to compulsorily opt for one of the plans to go for domain mapping. I request you to please just let me opt for domain mapping service.

  I’m sorry but that is not going to happen. Individual domain mapping upgrades without a plan were discontinued nearly 2 years ago now.

  As @timethief has mentioned, individual upgrades like standalone domain mapping were discontinued 2 years ago in favor of upgrade plans, which have quite a lot of features, including a domain credit which you can use to either buy a new domain or map a domain you already own. The plans also include at a minimum extra storage space, removal of WordPressdotcom advertising and direct support from Staff via Live Chat and Email. https://wordpress.com/pricing/

  If you kept up payment for your domain mapping upgrade on your existing site, you should have been able to continue paying for that. However, if you didn’t renew and let it lapse, then it would not be possible to go back to that upgrade.

  Regardless, I’m also going to tag this thread for Staff attention so they can look into when your domain mapping upgrade expired.

  Hi there,

  As @justjennifer mentioned, if you had the mapping upgrade by itself and did not let it lapse, you should’ve been able to renew the upgrade without a plan. I’ll look at your account and email you.
