Request to Verify Email from (email visible only to moderators and staff), Spam?

Hello!
I recently purchased a domain with wordpress.com for a free blog. I have received two emails since then requesting I click a button to confirm my email address. However, it’s sent from (email visible only to moderators and staff) and has no WordPress logo or color scheme or anything familiar.
I’ve had the same email address with WordPress all along, haven’t changed it. It says if I don’t verify, I won’t have access to all my domain controls. As of now, I don’t see anything I can’t access.
Is this an authentic email from WordPress or spam?

That is a valid email from our domain partner asking you to confirm your email address as part of the domain registration process.
We are aware that it is confusing but it is a legitimate request.
