request to verify my email address

  Dear Sir/madam,
  I’ve been receiving a request to verify my email address linked to my wordpress.com account, warned that if I don’t do so my account will be put on hold. The email comes from (email visible only to moderators and staff) and asks me to click on a link which would direct me to this address

  Is this from wordpress.com or any other secure website, and will I have to verify through this very link?

  Hi Antonella,

  This sounds like the ICANN email verification. Within a couple days of registering a domain you should receive an email that requests you verify that the email address on file is for the person who controls that domain. The email should look similar to this:

  Register a New Domain

  Does your email in question look similar? Had you previously verified your email for ICANN and still received another email?
