Requesting a Blog Name Wanted from Another Inactive User

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hello,

I’m looking to start up another new blog, but the name I want is already being used by an apparently inactive user. The name and blog have never been used (no posts, pages, etc. created) since early 2009. Because they’ve never added any information there is no way to contact the user so I’m wondering, do I have any options?

    Thank you kindly in advance!

    Natina

Do be aware wordpress.com will not release personal information and violate “privacy” There is no requirement that one must actively blog in any blog.

The ONLY option is to contact the blogger who has the blog you want. If they have contact information your can use it. If they have comments open you can use a contact box to contact them. Note that if you do make contact this process can be used to transfer the blog > http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/#transferring-your-blog-to-another-user-or-account

Lastly, note that these situation rarely result in a transfer of the blog.

    Thank you TT. :)

Of course, I have no interest in anyone’s personal information or violating anyone’s privacy. I wouldn’t be using WordPress if I thought they would do such a thing!

The user doesn’t have any contact info on the page, but there is a comment box, so I’ll try my luck with that.

    Thanks again!

I’m so glad you understood me. wordpress.com will not reveal the email address of the person who registered the blog but other have expected them to do so, and we Volunteers have had to tell them “no”. I hope the person does get back to you. Best wishes for a happy ending. :)
