Requesting a Google Analytics plugin

If possible, I would love to have a plugin for Google Analytics on WordPress.com. That way I can keep track of how many people visitit my blog and what kind of posts they read the most. That would really help me. Thanks in advance!

Sorry to say but plugins are not allowed in WordPress.com for security reasons however your Stats page is very helpful in keeping track of how many people visit your blog and what kind of posts they read the most. You can access your stats from the Stats tab on the WordPress.com home page or from your Dashboard -> Site Stats.

@elzrjose, I believe @ilonamiddel posted here in the ideas forum because she was wishing for the addition of Google Analytics functionality, not so much because she wanted to add a separate plugin.
Believe me, ilonamiddel, you are not alone in the “please can we have Google Analytics” boat ;)

Excuse me but we have known about the cloudflare workaround for google analytics on wordpress.com blogs since 2011 and we do not provide support for it.

I need Google Analytics as well. You HAVE to have it to be eligible to participate in professional forums. If WordPress is going to keep serious bloggers, they need to make this available.

So if I had stayed on the free version of WordPress, I could have plugins and Analytics? How is this good customer service?

No. there is no FTP access and no blogger installed plugin capability on any free hosted WordPress.com blogs.

If you want FTP access and to install plugins or third party themes into a site then you will have to hire a web host http://wordpress.org/hosting/ and set up your own WordPress.org install.

I like to hold my breath. If something will happen or not, that doesn´t matter to me. I vote when I like the idea. But I get your point, it´s unlikely here. I don´t expect them to add things that are suggested by the community.

Okay then. I sing and I don’t hold my breath unless it’s required. Otherwise use it to project. Granted that I’m small, but I don’t usually need a microphone. I just consider 8 years of pages of Google Analytics requests to be an indication this ain’t going to happen any time soon.

I understand what you mean and agree. I don´t believe in it as well. But casting a vote doesn´t cost me anything. I just got taught that I can´t complain if anything doesn´t happen, if I didn´t vote for it or participated in the issue. Also I believe that something can only be changed together… so, this is some kind of ideology I guess :)
