requesting lost blog be set to private
-
Hi! I have another account that I cannot log into as I’ve forgotten my password and no longer have the associated email. I read on the help page that in cases where I don’t have one of the three verification methods to recover the blog, I can request to have it set to private. I can’t figure out how to actually make this request however. Any ideas?

Hello there,
Many thanks for reaching out.
Are you able to confirm the URL of the website that you need assistance with please?
This will help to determine next steps.
Many thanks in advance.

Hi – thanks so much for the quick reply.
The url is melgillis.Wordpress.com. There may be a few other blogs under that same admin panel, but it’s so long ago, I can’t remember.
All the best,

Hello there,
Many thanks for that information.
You should perhaps look to recover the account as per these instructions here: https://wordpress.com/support/account-recovery/#account-recovery-form
I hope this helps.

Hi! Thank you. It’s the part at the very bottom about WordPress making an unrecoverable site private that I’m interested in. It says that option is available, but I don’t see how I can directly contact WordPress to make that request. Any ideas? Is there a WordPress support contact? When I try to use the recover password protocol, it won’t let me hit send unless I have one or the three verifying data pieces.

Please send an email to
passwordhelp (at) wordpress (dot) comexplaining the situation, and we’ll see if there’s anything we can do for you.
