requesting refund
-
I want to cancel my premium 99 dollar order and transfer my domain name over to wordpress.org where I purchased a domain host through bluehost. I want to get it done now as the order is almost 24 hours old. I NEED TO TALK TO SOMEONE TO DO THIS!! The reason I signed up for wordpress is because I heard that it was user friendly. I am not finding this to be so.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I should also mention that I selected to Cancel option and I never received a confirmation email.

Hi there, I’ll be glad to help you with this.
It looks like you purchased two upgrades separately:
$18 for the domain loveelizabethphoto.com
$79 for WordPress.com Premium
I’ve cancelled the Premium upgrade and issued a $79 refund.
You have two options for your domain name: since it was only registered yesterday, you can cancel the domain loveelizabethphoto.com and see if it becomes available again to register elsewhere, or you may point the name servers to Bluehost by logging into your domain manager and updating the name servers to those of Bluehost. After 60 days, you’ll also be able to transfer the domain to another registrar.
If you’d like me to manually cancel your domain registration and issue a refund, please let me know and I’ll be glad to do so. Please note that once it’s been cancelled, it may not become available in the future to register again. We typically would advise against this course of action unless you are certain you do not plan to use the domain in the future.

Thank you for issuing the refund. I have not received a notice that my $79 has been refunded, however I did receive an email saying that I have been refunded $62 upon confirming cancellation. However, when I confirm cancellation it takes me to a page that says “are you sure you want to do this.” I then have no options to click.

It can take 1-2 weeks for a refund to be reflected on your account, so the $79 may take a little longer to show up.
I’m not sure what you’re trying to do now, but please let me know if I can help. Do you want to permanently cancel loveelizabethphoto.com? Please let me know as soon as possible.

Thanks for clarifying. Domains can be transferred to another registrar 60 days after registration or any change in registrant contact information. In the meantime, you can feel free to log in and change your name servers to point them to Bluehost, so your self-hosted site shows at your domain name.
Just let me know if you have any other questions.

thanks kathryn. I will give this a go! Is there a way to transfer it and keep my site from being “live”?

You can set your WordPress.com site to be private under Settings > Reading, so visitors and search engines won’t have access to it:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/privacy-settings/
If you mean something else, just let me know.

Hi there. I transferred my domain name to bluehost but now I want to refund my domain altogether. How does that work?
-
Hi there, domain registrations are refundable up to 48 hours after purchase. Since your domain was registered on August 6, we’re now past that window.
Something to keep in mind is that while your domain name servers are pointing to Bluehost (your host), the domain is still registered through us. So WordPress.com is still your domain registrar, while Bluehost is now your host.
If you do eventually want to transfer your domain to Bluehost so they become your registrar in addition to your host, you can do that 60 days after registration (2013-08-06) or any change in registrant contact information. Our full guide is here: Transfer a domain to another registrar.

Thank you for responding to the domain refund question. I pointed my site to blue host but still have the domain registered with you which was an $18 charge. Unfortunately I can’t figure out what the other WPfee charge of $79 is all about. This purchase is marked 8/8/2013. Did my hosting refund not go through?

$79 was for the for WordPress.com Premium upgrade, and it was later refunded. It can take 1-2 weeks for a refund to be reflected on your account from the day the refund was issued. Could you please double-check with your credit card company to see if they can find a record of the refund? Thanks.
