resend activation email

    Hi there – can you please resend an activation email to the address for user: forestherbs

    We are trying to renew our Akismet account but are unable to login as it says “This account has not been activated. Please check your email for an activation link.”

    Hi there,

    An unverified account will not prevent you from logging in. It just prevents you from making changes to your Gravatar profile or to make changes to a site in your account.

    If you’re unable to log in, please try resetting your password using your username, here:

    Please make sure to log out of this account before doing that.

    I found the solution to …
    How to re-send activation email for wordpress.com account -without need for help by support team-:

    The problem:
    – You signed-up for a wordpress.com account but has never activated
    – Now you are trying to login but error message shows up:
    “This account hasn’t been activated yet……”

    But you cannot locate such email. Now, you are trying to find a way to re-send that activation email.
    Here is the solution:

    1 – login to wordpress.com using another account (your friend’s or create a new temporary one. I used one of my google accounts for a quick login)

    2 – while you ARE STILL logged in (with the new/temp account), go to wordpress.com login page

    3 – Again, while you are still logged in; try to log-in using the old account (the account that needs activation email)

    4 – Now you will see a button to send activation email again

    this button will send activation email for the account you are trying to login, NOT the one you are already logged in.

    Note: before posting this, I tested this case a couple of times, and it is really how it goes. So, I will name it a BUG, as the desired behavior should have been:
    – show the “resend” button without need of another account session

    I hope the programmers will fix this and update their support team.
    Until then, the above work-around will do the trick.

    I am not able to replicate what you saw at all – I have no problem logging into an unverified account and resending the email. What most likely happened in your case, as you apparently have more than two accounts, is that the cookies for one account was not properly cleared from your browser and that prevented you from logging into the other account.

    As you’ve already verified your account we have no way to confirm this, though, but I’ll keep an eye open for similar reports.

    +1 here, just had the same issue but found the original email luckily.

    I don’t have a second account however I did sign up though woocommerce so might be a lead to discovering an issue.
