reservation widget no longer sends to email
-
Hi. We used to get emails from the reservation inquiry widget. Now none. Now it only shows up in Feedback on our site.
We are running the Stay theme. The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hello there!
I took a look at both your sites, but I don’t see a reservation widget installed anywhere. Could you please do me a favor, and send me a link to the page that contains the widget? Then I can troubleshoot the issue for you.
Looking forward to hearing from you. Thanks very much.

Hi. thanks for responding. I have re-established the reservation widget on our site. I tested it from my phone and it still doesn’t send to our email address. (email visible only to moderators and staff)

Hey Fred!
Before I test the widget, could you confirm that the email address ” (email visible only to moderators and staff)” is set to receive emails from @wordpress.com? Make sure that is an accepted address, and that the email isn’t going to your spam box.
I am going to send you a test email to that address right now, under separate cover.
Let me know if/when you get it and we can continue solving your problem!
Thanks :) -

Thanks for your note, Fred!
That’s great that the email address is working properly.
I took a look at your site. I don’t see a WordPress.com-supported reservation widget installed. The only button I see is the one for Booking.com. If that’s the problematic widget, you will have to discuss this with Booking.com, since we don’t support that.
However, I can certainly assist with any WordPress.com widgets. Could you tell me which WordPress.com widget isn’t working properly for you?
Thanks so much!

The widget is in the header widget area and is titled “Reservation Inquiry”.
I got it directly from the wordpress offered widgets.
Hope this is visible on the site you are looking at. I did remove it after realizing that we weren’t getting emails from it, only posts, but returned it there a couple of days ago to help in diagnosing the problem.
It used to work.
Thanks Robyn

Fred!
Thank you so much for explaining. I was looking at your old site (the one linked to this post). Now I’ve got it! :)
I might a slight adaptation of your settings, and I’m going to test your reservation form right now.
Please keep an eye out for the email…give it several minutes. Then, let me know if you received it.
Thanks much!

Hi Robyn.
Your test from the widget did not come through…It only showed up in Feedback.
Come to think of it, I should probably delete that old site too.

Fred,
I have run a couple tests. The widget works with my email address, so I’d like to run one more test by changing the notification email address in your account. Could you please adjust the email address here:
For instance, if you have a hotmail or gmail account, temporarily use that. Once you’re done, let me know and I’ll run another test on your reservation form.
Looking forward to hearing from you. Thanks very much.

I changed the email address in the “contact info” part of that link you sent me to my personal address that I receive on my phone.
I hope that’s what you had in mind.

Hey there!
I took a look at:
https://driftwoodvillageresort.wordpress.com/wp-admin/user-edit.php?user_id=43354606&wp_http_referer=%2Fwp-admin%2Fusers.phpIt appears as if it’s still the same @driftwoodvillage.com email address under Contact Info (E-mail (required)). Did you have that email address change?
Let me know once that’s all done!
Thanks!
-
Robyn, sorry, I’ve been away for a few days.
I think I did what you said. I changed the “contact info email required” in the Profile settings page to read (email visible only to moderators and staff).
I noticed a similar page called personal settings which I did not change.

Hey Fred,
If you change the email address in your Personal Settings page as well, I will do some more testing of the widget.
Just let me know when that adjustment is made, and I’ll get started. Thanks!

I followed the link wordpress sent me….I guess the email has been changed….to my galianoartist at gmail.com

Hi there!
Your email was successfully changed and verified to that address. Since that change are reservations correctly being emailed to your new address?

Robyn,
could it be that our email is treating the widget mail as spam? Could it be that simple?? I will check that, and check with my colleague to see if he has been deleting them as junk email.
Also,
I want to delete the “old site” but when I went to do so, I didn’t like the confirmation wording that sounded like I was about to delete EVERYTHING… including our current site, which I want to definitely keep.
How can I safely get rid of that old site? (or can you do it for me?)
