Reserved domain

I already have a number of WordPress blogs hosted elsewhere, but I was curious to see if I could set up a free blog on WordPress.com by using my username. So I went to (username).wordpress.com and saw that the domain doesn’t exist, but it was reserved. Assuming it was reserved for me, I logged into my account and I was shown the option of registering (username).wordpress.com. I clicked on the link to do it and I was asked to pick a theme. I picked a theme and the next page asked me to pick a domain (or map one), so I typed in (username).wordpress.com and was presented with a bunch of similar names that I could pay for.

The only free domain that was offered to me was (usernameblog).wordpress.com. So now I’m confused…is it possible that my username has not been reserved for me or is there some other reason why I cannot use it?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi, @ledfrog, we’re working on a fix for that. But in the meantime you can go ahead and register the site here:
