Reserved Name?

  Hi, I would like to register a new blog — for quite some time now — but the address has been reserved! Is there a way I can override it (since it seems like the person who reserved it has forgotten about it)? I would like the address chocolatecovereddaydreams.wordpress.com

  Unless that person has made the username available, you’ll have to find something else.

  I thought I had reserved a name but now it’s telling me it’s unavailable, however I’ve put it in a search and it doesn’t exist!! How can I see if I have reserved it?

  If you see a message saying the name is reserved and cannot be registered, that means the matching username already exists in the system and only that username can create that blog name.

  @designsimply, are names ever “unreserved” for other bloggers’ taking? I’ve been trying to come up with a great blog name for weeks and finally struck gold on 19seconds, only to unhappily find out it was reserved :(

  Username 19seconds was registered 4 years ago, so that blog URL is reserved for them and always will be.

  @rosilily: unfortunately, no. Blog names don’t become “unreserved”, only the matching username can register that blog.
