  Hi,
  I used to have a WordPress.com blog. I would like to recreate my blog now but when I type my old url keskiossa.wordpress.com to address bar I get a message ‘keskiossa.wordpress.com is no longer available. The authors have deleted this site.’ When I try to create site it says that url already exists. Why can’t I use my old url for my recreated blog?

  Hi,

  According to WordPress.com policy, regardless of who created or once owned a deleted blog address, it can not be reused or recycled. The relevant support page is Recycling Blog Addresses (URLs).

  Hi veskutuomaala,

  Since that URL was deleted, you can’t use it again. You’ll need to select another URL for your new blog.

  Addresses (URLs) for blogs that have been deleted by the owner will remain deleted. We cannot, under any circumstances, allow someone to take over the address of a blog that was owned and deleted by its original/previous owner.

  Deleting a site permanently removes it and you’ll never be able to re-use its WordPress.com address (such as yourgroovysite.wordpress.com).
