Reserved Username- Mine?

  I have two wordpress accounts, one had the username “joannalovatt” and one had the username “josypie”. However, I wanted to swop email addresses between them, so I changed the account called “joannalovatt” to “josypie21”, and the account “josypie” to “joannalovatt”.

  Now I want to start a wordpress blog with the url joannalovatt.wordpress.com, but it says that the name is reserved. My account is also still showing the name “josypie”.

  What’s the problem here? Have I confused the server, and is the url now no longer available? Or will it just take time to update and eventually the url will become available to the new account?

  NB I cannot access the URL from either account now.

  Hi there,

  When you change your username, the old username is unavailable for you or anyone else to use after that. There isn’t a way to change your username back or change another account to that username. We have more details and warnings about that here: Change Your Username

  Because you no longer have the username joannalovatt, it’s not possible for you to register a blog at joannalovatt.wordpress.com. I’m very sorry I’m not able to do anything more to help with that.
