Reset my pw and logged in, but then WordPress said my acc’t doesn’t exist
-
I write for a website owned by someone else but years ago never had problems logging into WordPress with the email address that I just made an account for. After a few years, I returned to log in with the same info and WordPress said my account didn’t exist. The site owner gave me a password reset link two days ago and it worked to log in with, but I tried to log in again today and WordPress still said that my account didn’t exist even after I just reset the password and successfully logged in two days ago. Now I’ve created an account with the same email that I’ve always used and am looking for a way to link it to the website that I write for. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

A wordpress.com account over here has nothing to with the login credentials off a self-hosted site. That’s why wordpress.com doesn’t recognize you login credentials and says your account doesn’t excist over here.
You must log in to your site at …/wp-admin using the credentials you choose when you set up that site.

It worked! Thank you! I was looking for that kind of link but didn’t know how to get to it which is why I tried to log in through the regular page. Two more questions: 1) Is there a way to connect my access to the site to the account that I just created that uses the same email address or are they totally separate? 2) Is there a way to log in to WordPress with a password or must it always be done with an emailed link? Thanks again!
