reset password

    I’ve filled out the form for resetting the password. It says an email has been sent but no email arrives. I’ve tried 3 times, leaving 30-60 minutes between each time. Why does it not send the email so I can reset the password?

    Just to be sure, you’ve checked your spam folder and made sure the resets aren’t being send there?

    There are no reset password emails in the spam/junk folder either. It’s a mystery!

    Hello there, are you trying to reset the password for a different WPcom account or for a self-hosted WP site?

    If the first, begin by logging out of this account and clearing your browser cache and cookies (which will also log you out of every other site you are logged into) then visiting the WPcom login page. On that page, below the log in, you can click to send yourself a one-time log in email. Once you are logged in to the correct account you can reset the password.

    If you need help resetting the password for a site using the open source WP software, have a look here https://wordpress.org/support/article/resetting-your-password/ and then if you need further help, inquire with your web hosting provider.

    In general for assistance with the WP softwaere, you’ll want to head over to the forums at https://wordpress.org/support/ where you’ll find documentation and users who have more experience with the software you are using. If you don’t have a username on the ORG forums you can register one on the top of that page.
