Reset PollDaddy account…

  • Unknown's avatar

Didn’t think twice before hitting the “Create account automatically” and now I realized I made doodoocaca.

Here’s the thing: I’ll be soon migrating to self-host.

But I’d like to start messing with polls now, and need to be able to keep the polls after I migrate.

So, I actually have 2 questions:

    1) Is it possible to reset the PollDaddy registration so I can create a new independent account?
    2) Having an independent account, will I be able to keep all my polls when I migrate my blog to self-host (wordpress.org)?

    Thanks! o/

I’m sorry there is nothing the talented forum volunteers can do to help
you with this matter. You’ll need to contact support for this matter.

I have been using PollDaddy prior to the integration here, so I guess I have an “independent registration,” as you call it. I can see all of my polls on the PollDaddy website.

I don’t know anything about resetting the registration but it seems to me all you need to do is create another account.

teck07 – ok, thanks… I was thinking I’d need to do something like that.
vivianpaige – I think the problem is that, when you tell WordPress.com to automatically create a polldaddy account, it randomly creates a login and password and attaches it to the blog…

Thanks for the quick reply! :D

Creating an account on PollDaddy after WordPress has created a login automatically would not help. There is no way to let WordPress use your account once it has created an automatic account for PollDaddy.

There should be a reset method somewhere.
Incidentally I too clicked on Auto generate PollDaddy account :/

Please someone tell us how to reset a WordPress auto generated PollDaddy account.

    Thanks!

    All,

I have found a way to use own PollDaddy account while creating polls on WordPress.com.
After you create an account on PollDaddy.com, create a poll and it will give a javascript code which can be used to publish the Poll created. It also provides Shortcodes for WordPress.com.
It available at the right hand bar on that page. Click that and use the Shortcode provided for the Poll you created. Use that shortcode in the WordPress.com post instead of going through PollDaddy from within wordpress.com.

This solves the problem. Let that wordpress auto generated account of Polldaddy stay as it is.

    Cheers! :)
