Reset site
-
Hi. I would like to be able to try different themes, but after I activated one of them, every time I try a new one it looks completely different to the model displayed in the theme selector. Obviously I have changed or deleted some settings. How can I rest things to the default again? I have no site content at all (yet). The site is English in Manaus (domain englishmanaus.com)
Many thanks for any help.

The Admin login link to the dashboard for every blog hosted by wordpress.COM is:
http://NAME_OF_BLOG.wordpress.com/wp-admin/
*Replace NAME_OF_BLOG in that URL with the actual name of your blog.
Your detailed theme description page is at https://wordpress.com/themes/goran/ and that’s where set up instructions for it are found. The live demo site is at https://gorandemo.wordpress.com/
You must be logged in under the username account that registered the site first. Make sure you are running an updated browser version found at http://browsehappy.com or upgrade, please.

A blog is a website. The difference between blog and website is simply structure and semantics.
A blog is a post based website designed for interactive communication. As the posts are frequently updated and appear on the front page of the site it’s very attractive to search engines.
What most people call a website is merely a page based site that functions as a one-way noticeboard. As the structure is page based and as pages are for static content that rarely changes, and as pages do not have RSS feeds, and as others do not backlink to pages, it is not as attractive to search engines as a post based blog structured site is.
Any WordPress blog can be restructured from being post based to being page based – no upgrade required. For greater clarity read > http://en.support.wordpress.com/using-wordpress-to-create-a-website/

https://en.support.wordpress.com/five-step-blog-setup/
https://en.support.wordpress.com/five-step-website-setup/Switching themes can be easily done, provided you are logged in as Admin under the same username account that registered the site. Themes are just “skins” on WordPress.COM hosted blogs. You can quickly and easily change themes on any WordPress.COM hosted blog to another one found here http://wordpress.com/themes/ and no data will be lost or negatively affected by the change. The only time you may have to do a lot of work is if you are changing to a dramatically different theme with different features and/or if you have done any CSS editing.
Provided you are logged in as Admin under the same username account that registered the blog go to Dashboard > Appearance > Themes, Browse themes until you find one you like and click the “activate” or the “preview” link, or type in the name of the theme you want to use when it appears.
The theme customizer https://en.support.wordpress.com/customizer/ provides a preview function for exactly that purpose ie. so you can view what a theme will appear like prior to changing one.

Thanks for the detailed information, but none of this is working for me. Clearly something has changed/I have changed something. Even the site previews display incorrectly.
I’m pretty sure I will need to reset the site somehow, or perhaps delete it and start again. If I delete the site (my own domain is mapped to it), will I be able to start again with the same details and map the same domain to it?
Thanks

Can someone out there please help me with this? Or can someone confirm that I can delete my site and start again from scratch?
Thanks
