reset theme

    I just purchased a Premium Theme and added it to my site. Unfortunately, all the old settings from the old theme were still there and the new theme looks nothing like the demo. I would love to just start from scratch. Can someone help me, please?

    Can you verify which theme you’re referring to?

    I’m going to add the modlook tag to this post so that Staff can assist you with a reset of the theme. Please be patient while waiting for someone to respond.

  • Hi @fromthebathtub, your new theme doesn’t have demo content available like the old one did. I can empty the site for you if you’d like, though.

    Then would use these steps to start adding content and configuring your theme:

    I think I’m understanding. What happened was I selected a free theme and then started using the Customizer to edit it and make it the way I wanted. After I did all of that customizing, I decided I wanted to use a different theme. I ended up buying Luxury. After the purchase was made and Luxury was activated, all of the things I customized with the original theme were still there. For example, I added a logo in the Customizer while still using the free theme. When Luxury was activated, it kept the logo even though I didn’t want it. Does that make sense? So I guess I have have two questions now. If you empty the site, will all the information and original customization be gone so I can start fresh? If so, will I still be able to use my purchased theme without having to buy it again? Thank you for your help.

  • Hi , the theme will still be there. All of the customizations should be gone.

  • @fromthebathtub okay. We’ll start emptying it now, and that should be done soon. You may still need to change out widgets, but you can do that when you’re setting it all back up. If you need more help, let us know.
