RESET WITHOUT LOSING WORK

  • Unknown's avatar

Hello, I am messaging because I changed the theme of my blog but it has given me a lot of unwanted photos and other information off there and I would like to take my blog back to what it was before I changed the theme. I do not want to lose any of my work or blog posts, I just want to change it back to what I had before.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there,

Usually changing a theme should not change the content on your blog but just the way it’s presented so you can always change back to your old theme if you want the old design.

However, when you select to replace homepage content with placeholder content that comes with the theme you are changing to, some pages may get affected. This should not be a problem as WordPress autosaves your work /versions of your work as you make changes to your site. To restore to the way things were, you have to make sure you change back the theme you want and then use the page/post revisions feature to restore the version you want.

Please use these guidelines to help you through this process

I have also marked the thread for staff as I’m sure they can help you with this as well.

@livcd1606 – Your content should exist independently of your theme, even if you switched to a theme with pre-populated content as @therefoiam mentioned.

It looks like you were using Twenty Twelve before you started switching themes. You should be able to switch back from Blank Canvas without any trouble.

Let us know if you have any questions or need help with anything else.
