Resetting Theme
-
Hi,
I haven’t done anything on my blog yet – I’m putting it aside for a rainy day. But I’ve played around with the theme quite a bit and I want to return it to the blank state it was in when I first purchased it. I want my theme to go back to default but I’m not sure how to do it. I know there’s an option to restart your blog and delete all of your content but I don’t have any content yet so I don’t know if that’s what I should be doing.
Thanks. The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hello @exquisitestrange,
There is not a theme reset or theme deactivation feature with WordPress.com. When you create your initial site, you are prompted with the option to select a theme. During this process, there is no need to overthink it (and you actually get this message during the creation process) because you can always switch to a different theme later. Yay, right?!
Changing themes is easy to do and no data is ever lost :-)
You can go here Dashboard > Appearance > Themes and select a new theme and activate it.
When you get around to selecting a theme that you would like to use, you can go to this link https://theme.wordpress.com/ and peruse the available themes. Once you find something you would like to use, you can do a demo of how it will look and then activate it or you check out additional themes to see how they look.
I hope this helps!
Sincerely,
Chelsea
