resetting to default is proving impossible

Resetting a theme to default should not be such an issue. I am learning and experimenting by changing things and seeing what they do. But when I want to continue with a themes tutorial I can;t because things have changes so much it becomes messy and difficult to make sense. I have tried the manual process of deleting pages and media etc but this does not reset theme to its default state when I first initially installed it. There are changes to other elements that are still making it not look like it did. Even if I change to other themes they don’t look like they should nor does my original if I try applying that theme again. All themes attempted do not load their default media/ content. I believe this is a huge hindering in any learning curve to new wordpress students as you can not undo your mistakes to see where you have gone wrong nor can you experiment to see what things do and have the option to return to a point where you were. The other option you give is to have support team delete content but I am sure it has the same result as doing it manually. My themes still wont return to 100% default. The other option is to delete the site and choose a new name. This makes my old name not available ever again. This makes me think there must be thousands or even hundreds of thousands of sites that have been created then deleted because that was the only way they could start a them 100% from scratch again and in the process loosing the addresses they wanted to use. It should not be so difficult to restore a theme to its 100% original state. I believe there is a plugin in wordpress.org to do this, Even send a email for confirmation if you worried about people irreversibly deleting their content in error to ensure people know what they are doing. This is very frustrating and a factor to consider learning other web programs instead. This was a reason I stopped years ago trying to learn wordpress. It might be logical for people familiar with the ways of wordpres but not for newbies. There must be plenty of newbies with this same issue.
