Resizing an image?
-
Hi,
I’m trying to figure out how to resize an image but I can’t seem to find any specific guidelines on how to do so. Can you please direct me as to how to do it?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
Here are the Steps:
1. Click on the the Media > Library link in WordPress
2. From there select or upload an image you want to resize.
3. Next click “Edit Image” on the Details page.
4. Now enter the new size you want. If you just enter a width the height with automatically be calculated based on the images ratio or vice versa. When you have the size you want click Scale
5. To use your newly resized image go back to the images details page and copy the url as shown in the screenshot below. Then you will have a resized image in WordPress.
Hope this helps!

Thanks so much for your answer! This doesn’t appear as an option for me. Can it not be done in the free version of WordPress?

Hi arthomure,
I see what you mean, in both my free and premium sites I can’t change the size from the Media tab in the blue side panel. But when you scroll down to the bottom of that panel, do you see a link for “WP Admin”?
I found that when you first click that – to be taken to the classic WordPress dashboard – and then follow the instructions above, it works!
Let me know if this helps!

I really appreciate your help! Unfortunately I do not see a “WP Admin” link anywhere on my leftside panel. The last thing I see is “settings” which is nested under the configure menu. I don’t see anything referring to WP Admin. Just to be clear about where I am, I clicked “my site” in the upper left to get the side panel I’m looking at. Is there anything else I should be doing?
I generally don’t struggle with tech like this, but I cannot find out how to do this ANYWHERE and I feel dumb!

New users don’t get the classic/wp-admin link in their dashboards.
To reach the advanced options of image editing requires adding /wp-admin to a site address.

@arthomure – thanks for describing what you see in the panel. I didn’t realize, like what themagicrobot said, that newer users don’t see that link!
What happens when you go to https://rightonclark.wordpress.com/wp-admin like themagicrobot suggested?
Hopefully this gets you into that classic dashboard!

Hi, I am having the same issues as @arthomure. I have tried going to my wordpress address (https://wordpress.com/media/images/oralanddentalhealthpsp.wordpress.com/wp-admin) to access the advanced settings, but get the same image editing options as you get on normal settings.
Is the answer to update to premium to access advanced options of image editing?

@oralanddentalhealthpsp It is not good practice to hijack other people’s threads as all the above participants will be included in your question. You are using the wrong URL. Try: https://oralanddentalhealthpsp.wordpress.com/wp-admin/ and then click on “media”.
