resizing images – controls not available?

I have recently revived my blog after a 6 year hiatus. I was very skilled in the old editor, which had many subtle controls that seem to have vanished.

Today I placed a graphic, original size 72px 14″ square. it was huge on the post, so I went to Media and Edit Image. there were online instructions for tools that weren’t anywhere to be found, such as “Scale Image”

I had to delete it, edit in photoshop, then replace it. this is truly a PITA

there is no editable scale or dimension info anywhere under edit image. what am I missing?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi there,

Can I see this on your homepage?  Or is it a specific place I need to look at?

I did not see any overly re-sized images (such as you describe) when I was checking, and it will help if we can inspect the image directly to see what the underlying issue is. Thanks for pointing it out!

Well I wasnt going to publish it like that. Here’s a few screen shots. can you show me where the image scale or size editing is supposed to be? on the screen with the pixel dimensions are not changeable.

    Thank you for the details!

    You’ll want to do this:

    1. Open your draft post for editing
    2. Click on the image
    3. You’ll notice two circles on the bottom and the right side
    4. Clicking and dragging either will resize the image
