Resizing Photo Galleries

“Hi there! I’m working with the Gridspace theme and I would like to have a gallery on one of my pages. Though, when I add the gallery the images in the gallery are too large. I would like to make the gallery smaller so it doesn’t take up the entire page. Can you please help with this? My site is: fromtheathleteskitchen.com”

Howdy Allison!
Have you tried resizing each individual image that is included in the gallery?
Also, you can include shortcode to resize the gallery.
Take a look at this article. There is a table that gives you some shortcodes. You might try the “size” shortcode and see what that does for you.
I hope this helps you!

I forgot to give you the link to the article! Sorry about that!

Hi @allisonhudsonstockamore,
I’m working with the Gridspace theme and I would like to have a gallery on one of my pages. Though, when I add the gallery the images in the gallery are too large.
Do you have a link to the page/post in question? I’m happy to take a closer look.
Although you did not mention it, I also see you have quite a few recipes on your site. You may want to use our recipe shortcode to format those. It’s worth a shot!
Thanks for the additional info!

Hi guys thank you very much for the quick reply. Jsase5, to answer your question, I did try resizing the photos before putting them in the gallery, and what happened is that in the gallery they were still too big, as well as blurry. I’ll take a look at the short code.
Jerrysarcastic, here is the page:
http://fromtheathleteskitchen.com/press-partnerships/
I’d like each of those images to be in the gallery.
Separately thank you so much for sending the recipe shortcode, I did not even know that was a resource. I will be sure to check that out, I would really love to give the recipes a more polished look. I really appreciate you checking out the site and making the suggestion!
Thanks again guys and have a great day!
Sincerely,
Allison

I noticed that on your press partnerships page that the 4 images that are there currently are linked (as in you can click on the image) to a separate sub page where you talk about this particular sponsor.
One thing to be aware of is that you won’t be able to link images to pages like that when they are in a gallery. In a gallery, if you click on a single image (typically thumbnail sized) it launches an image carousel, where you can see the image at full size.
This works great if you are a photographer, and want to be able to offer the ability to view images really big. But for you I think it is a bad fit because you will lose the ability to link to sub-pages. And to be honest, the images you have on that page now are plenty big enough to be legible. I think it’s good as-is.
Hope that helps. If you decide you’d still like to try making a gallery work in that spot, let me know.
Cheers,
-Jerry
