Resizing photos
-
I logged on today to find that everything had changed, without any warning, and that classic editor no longer works. I have been in floods of tears for most of the morning trying to work out what to do, but am trying to make the best of a very bad job. One immediate problem I’ve got is with trying to resize photos. I used to insert the photo, then click on it, and an ‘edit’ option came up. I could then resize the photo. That no longer exists. I seem to be able to resize the photo, but it doesn’t tell me what size it is, and I need it to be a particular size or else the link won’t show up on Facebook. Short of getting a ruler and measuring it, is there a way round this? I’ve been trying to sort things out all morning and, as I suffer badly from anxiety, am on the verge of a panic attack. Please tell me what to do. Thank you.
Also, how do I delete a photo? There doesn’t seem to be a way to take it back out?

You can resize an image to a specific size by following the steps at https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/blocks/image-block/#resize-images

Thanks, but since this nightmarish update, I don’t get the blue arrows – I know how to use those. If I add an image, I just get two straight black arrows pointing in opposite directions, so I can resize the photo but it doesn’t tell me the size. Also, there seems to be no option to remove a photo added by mistake. Any ideas? Everything was fine before this update was done with no notification.
Thanks.

For a specific size, follow the steps at https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/blocks/image-block/#resize-images in the paragraph starting with “Alternatively, you can adjust the width and height dimensions in the block settings on the right-hand-side.”
To remove an Image Block, or any block, added by mistake, just follow the steps at https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/#remove-a-block

Thanks. I’ve just seen in another member’s post that I can get classic editor back by switching on “advanced navigation”. Wish I’d seen that earlier, would have saved a lot of tears! So I can now use classic editor again, hooray, so the problem is solved! Thanks anyway!
