Resizing Twitter "Follow" Button?
-
Hello,
I’m currently running the Spectrum theme and have followed the instructions listed here to create a Twitter “Follow” button widget:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/twitter/twitter-follow-button/
Unfortunately, the default size of the button is really small – is there a way to modify the size to make it larger? Thanks!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there!
What you can do is go here and choose the “Large Button”:
https://about.twitter.com/resources/buttons#follow
Copy the HTML code and paste it into a Text Widget.
If you don’t like that size, please let me know and we can come up with another solution!
Cheers!

Thanks so much for the suggestion, but unfortunately it doesn’t really seem to make much of a difference. There’s also the issue that this method tacks on a bubble with my follower count at the end – I don’t think it looks very clean that way and would just prefer a more straightforward “Follow me on Twitter” button

That’s fine. Basically a Twitter icon is just an image. So find an Follow me on Twitter image that you like. You can do a search on Google Images like here. Once you find the one you want, add an Image Widget (make sure the extension is .jpg, .png, etc.) and under Image URL, add the link to your Twitter profile.
Cheers!

Many thanks – that was easy! I’m new to blogging so some of the simple stuff escapes me, LOL. I was originally thinking I would be able to modify the text widget somehow to bump up the size, but this was a great fix that left me with more visual options – thanks!

No worries at all! Yes – I prefer this way so you can control exactly which image you prefer :) Glad we were able to do this!
Happy Blogging!
