  How big is the resolution on the background

  The theme does not seem to set a background image size, but allows you to upload as big (or small) an image as you like. For example, I just uploaded a 4928 x 3264 image. You could base your background on what typical screen resolutions are today, but keep in mind that the larger the image the longer the page load, because user has to download the whole image (large bandwidth). Also, please keep in mind that a large population of users are accessing most of the web from mobile devices these days too, which makes the resolution conversation all that much more complex.

  I would aim for something around 1280 x 1024 at the largest. You should also optimize with something like Yahoo’s Smush.it
