Resonar title/image placement

    Hi!
I’m new to wordpress and I hope, I’m in the right forum now.
I’ve got a problem with the resonar title and image placement. In the demo demo here the homepage is also the blog and as you click on the headline on the picture (which is a link), you get to another site (a normal article).
My homepage is a sticky site. You can reach the blog and other sites via menu bar. I want to have different pictures on every site/article, with the title on the picture, but without being a link.
    1. How do I get the picture beneath the blog name and menu bar? I’ve got the picture everywhere by now, but not in this position.
    2. How do I get the title of the site/article onto that picture and not above or beneath of it?
    3. In the demo, the title moves a little bit when you scroll and a down arrow appears and disappears. How can I do that?
    4. Is it even possible to have different pictures and titles on every site/article?

Thank you for any upcoming answers!
    Greetings, Katrin
PS.: Sorry, if I made grammar mistakes or if my sentences are a bit chaotic, I’m not a native speaker. I just thought I would get more answers here. ;-)

  • Hi Katrin, welcome to WordPress!

If you haven’t already seen it, the guide to setting up Resonar should help you set up the theme:

    https://theme.wordpress.com/themes/resonar/

The key element your site is missing is featured images.

    1. How do I get the picture beneath the blog name and menu bar? I’ve got the picture everywhere by now, but not in this position.

    3. In the demo, the title moves a little bit when you scroll and a down arrow appears and disappears. How can I do that?

    4. Is it even possible to have different pictures and titles on every site/article?

To accomplish all this, try adding a featured image to each post and page:
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/featured-images/

The theme’s recommended featured-image size is at least 2000px wide and 1500px high.

Once you do that, the three items above should be apparent on your site.

    2. How do I get the title of the site/article onto that picture and not above or beneath of it?

By making the post sticky, so it becomes a Featured post, like in the demo: https://resonardemo.wordpress.com/

    https://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/post-visibility/#sticky-posts

Currently you don’t have any sticky posts. (When you said “My homepage is a sticky site.” I think you meant it’s a static page!)

Let me know how it goes!

Thank you for your help! I will try all these things the next days or as soon as possible. I think I mixed a few things (sticky, static) up in the translation, because I use the german wordpress and everything has different names ;-)
I’ll let you know if it works!

  • Sounds good, Glück!

Thank you so much for helping me! You were absolutely right with the featured images. I’ve already used a featured image, but my horrible photos were too small, so it was just a kind of a logo. Now that I made good photos today, it works perfectly.

    Have a nice evening!

  • Wonderful, glad to hear that adding featured images did the trick. Your site is looking good!
