Responding to LIKES and FOLLOWS

    I’m still pretty new at this, but I have been fortunate enough to get some “LIKEs” and even a follower.
    When they do whatever they do to like or follow me, I get an email notification, but I am not sure what response protocol is.
    I am flattered, so I have tried to thank them from their profile in the email, but sometimes I have to run thru several steps (Gravatar, About.me, etc.).
    One profile took me to their website, where I had to click on “Contact us”, and fill out a form, when all I wanted to do was say “Thank you”.
    There must be an easier way.

    The response protocol is to do nothing. Spammers, unfortunately, have ruined the community-based aspect to mutual shares and likes.
