REST API and 404 errors from a wordpress.com site.

  Hi There, I’m reading all sorts of articles about accessing content via the REST API. Sounds exciting! I thought it would be as simple as

  http://horseshoe7.wordpress.com/wp-json/wp/v2/posts

  But this gives a 404 error. Some people said I should mess with my permalinks structure to fix it, but I can’t even find that anymore in the admin page.

  So ultimately I’d just like to be able to get my posts via REST, and I’m told as of v4.7 of the platform, I don’t need plugins, which is good because I’m not on a business plan.

  Is it possible to do this with a free user account? It’s hosted on wordpress.com It was hard enough finding out what version of the platform it is using, but I assume it’s going to be pretty current.
